Nowadays, Maven is so popular and help us a lots on development.

Apache Maven is a software project management and comprehension tool. Based on the concept of a project object model (POM), Maven can manage a project’s build, reporting and documentation from a central piece of information.

To install Apache Maven on Windows, you just need to download the Maven’s zip file, and Unzip it to whatever directory you want ( no need to install ) , and configure the Windows environment variables.

Required tools (older or newer version is not the problems, they are still the same):

  1. JDK 1.7 or higher
  2. Maven 3.2.2 or higher
  3. Windows 10

Make sure JDK is installed, and “JAVA_HOME” variable is added as Windows environment variable.

Test you configuration with :

  • Download Apache Maven

Visit Maven official website, download the Maven zip file, for example :

. Unzip it to the folder you want to install Maven.

Assume you unzip to this folder –

  • Add M2_HOME and MAVEN_HOME

Add both


variables in the Windows environment, and point it to your Maven folder.

  • Add To PATH


variable, append Maven bin folder –

, so that you can run the Maven’s command everywhere.

  • Run it

Done, to verify it, run

in the command prompt.

If you see a similar message, means the Apache Maven is installed successfully on Windows.
